Paw Patrol Live! "Race to the Rescue" is fetching the stage for the first-ever live tour with four performances at the Trick Theater of operations in Battle of Atlanta July 8 through July 9.

Mayor Goodway is played past Atlanta's Olivia Sarafina Washington. Playing since the age of 10, Washington's almost commemoration role to date is Motormoouth Maybelle, which earned her the coveted Express of Georgia 2012 Shuler Hensley Award for Best Performance by a Featured Performing artist.

This week I had the joy to interview Olivia Washington and ask her a fewer questions active her current purpose in that theatrical performance and more!

Atlanta Southern Family:

How extendible deliver you been performing on stage?

Oliva American capital:

Opening at The Children's School when I was foursome, I always did the school plays. So I hypothesi you force out aver forever.

Atlanta Southern Family:

What or Who glorious you to work in theatre?

Oliva Washington:

The audience of my 6th grade performance of The Leo King. I played Pumbaa and after that performance so many people came up to me saying how howling my functioning was. I was a bit baffled, I didn't really think much of it. But, I continued to pursue the performing arts ever since then so I guesswork the audience's feedback had something to do with that.

Atlanta Southern Family:

What are some of your past performances?

Oliva Washington:

I graduated from American Musical and Striking Academy in May of 2016, so this is my low pro performance. But in middle and senior high, I performed a draw. I played Snoopy in You're a Good Military man Charlie Brown, The Duchess in Alice in Wonderland, Trix in The Drowsy Chaperone, Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, Sylvia Fowler in The Women, to name a hardly a.

Capital of Georgia Southern Family:

What was your favorite performance?

Oliva Washington:

That's hardened… I think up I'm going to go with Snoopy from You'ray a Good Man Charlie Brown. I played this role when I was in 8th plac at Woodward Academy. It was just indeed often fun. I acceptable awards when I played Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray, but I genuinely just had the primo time performin Nosy. The cast was super talented and just howling humanity. The musical is one of my favorites.

Battle of Atlanta Southern Family:

What do you enjoy almost about theater carrying out? What approximately being 'on stage' that interests/excites you the most?

Oliva American capital:

IT's the power to pass all of yourself to the audience. Information technology's the instant gratification you get when they jap or clap. It's the feeling of exhaustion when you walk off the degree after the last show of a three show twenty-four hour period and know you gave it everything you had. There is something about live theatre that doesn't compare to any other type of performance. Perchance it's the fear of not beingness able to do another take that puts you 110% into your body and forces you to focus and live in the moment. Whatever it is, it is the about rewarding thing in the world-wide.

Atlanta Southerly Menag:

Can you describe your role as City manager Goodway and what it is same performing in Paw Patrol?

Oliva American capital:

Yes! I gambol the role of the melodramatic, yet lovable, mayor of Gamble Bay – City manager Goodway! From her exaggerated representative to her groovy dancing, playing this character is the most fun I have ever had on arrange. Everything about this character is frankly just a heightened variant of myself, which makes it all the Sir Thomas More fun to break "the 4th wall" and gradation off the stage to interact with the kiddos in the audience. I candidly feel care a rockstar when I'm out on stage or in the audience because the kids love PAW Patrol so practically. It is one of the most popular child shows out right now. I'm honored to be apart of this production.

Atlanta Southern Home:

What is your favorite part about playing the role of Mayor Goodway in Hand Patrol Live?

Oliva Washington:

The audience interaction, handily, is my favorite part about my role in Manus Police Live! "Wash to the Rescue." Mayor Goodway goes into the audience to interview the kids towards the end of the show, which is always a shell. I also love that this character is so outgoing and has an entertaining over the best personality. It made her that much more fun developing the theatrical role for the stage.

Atlanta Southerly Family:

What ready-made you want to try out for this production?

Oliva Evergreen State:

Once I graduated from college in May of 2016, I rented an apartment in Original York and started throbbing the audition pavement. I was auditioning for everything but principally sail ships. I would receive a recollect Beaver State two merely nothing further. One day I got an email from Michael Cassara casting, calling me in to sense of hearing for Hand Patrol Viable. During my last semester at AMDA we throw a "Panel Night" where groups of industry professionals come and watch each student perform a monologue and a song. I definitely made a good imprint on Mr. Cassara who cared-for my panel night because next matter I know I am auditioning for this life-dynamic tour.

After auditioning, I received my first call back and came back two days late to do around monologue work in the actual voice of Mayor Goodway. I left the prognosticate back notion confident that I nailed IT. Now altogether I could coif was wait to hear back. One calendar week went by, then ii, then three and at this point I am thinking I evidently didn't get the job. During those weeks of waiting I continued to search for jobs and had acquired doubled part-metre jobs in City of London as a nanny, air hostess, and an AMDA Admission Counselor. Information technology wasn't until my first day working American Samoa a nurse when I got the bid that I have been offered the role of City manager Goodway. I honestly almost fainted. I packed my bags, left New York, and signed happening to be a part of this incredible Nickelodeon premiere tour.

Atlanta Southern Family:

Who is your favorite actor?

Oliva Washington:

Hmmm…ok…belly laugh. This is tough for Maine because I don't actually have just one. I have intercourse so many people from TV, movies, and stage. I would say that my favorite entertainer/mogul is Queen Latifah. You are probably thinking, "I mean she's good just what about Viola Davis or Denzel etc?" Let me explain, I hump Queen Latifah not because she is the best role playe to ever decorate our earth but because of how she has navigated the industry. She has done TV, film, music, commercial, sound over, phase, production, clay sculpture, etc. She has done it all. As a full-patterned woman of colour in, that is incredible! She is an surprising role model and such an inspiration. I want to fare everything she has done and that is wherefore she is my dearie.

Atlanta Gray Sept:

What is your advice to aspiring actors?

Oliva Washington:

Make out or put on't. If you are not sledding to see and give it your all and leave your inhibitions at the door, then stay home. If you are willing to throw yourself out of your comfort zone and use your talents to the Charles Herbert Best of your power, then acting is the way to go. It is difficult for a afraid thespian to succeed. When I was in schooling and a teacher picked one of my classmates to demonstrate something in front of the class and they would timid away from it because information technology was embarrassing or something of the sort, it was so much a disappointment, because I knew they had a good deal to whir.

Atlanta Southern Family:

What is one thing that I haven't asked that you would like to share with our readers?

Oliva Washington:

I learned something while being on tour, which I feel is virtual for anyone in the arts to do, sacrifice. In order to be uppercase you get to sacrifice something. Those things may be different from soul to person, but it is inevitable. In this caseful, Mayor Goodway has a rattling specific and unique representative that I mirror for the live production. Her articulation is octaves above my normal speechmaking voice sol doing multiple shows a workweek requires vocal strength and toughness. Connected top of that, I have acid reflux (something a good deal of singers have that can wearable devour your corduroys if you're not provident). Therefore, I get to be super diligent about what I consume and how loud and frequently I speak outside of the show. I called my parents one sidereal day after a show feeling frustrated about my voice organism played out, and I told them I ate spicy food (uncomparable thing you shouldn't eat with acid ebb). My mother simply told me I had to cut that out of my diet. I LOVE spicy food and so I replied saying, "But racy food is my livelihood!" And my dad said, "No Livy, your voice is your livelihood." Like a ton of bricks it hit me and I paused for a moment. He was so rightmost. My voice, my physical ability to execute is my sustenance. And that's worth the sacrifice!

The performance schedule is as follows:

Sat., July 8 at 10 a.m. , Sat., July 8 at 2 p.m. , Sun., July 9 at 10 a.m. and Sunday., July 9 at 2 p.m.
