I make these every yr and I need to keep making a large batch every year. This recipe is time consuming but uncomplicated. Notes I'd like to add together: 1. Beat oreos, then put into a food processor. Add the cream cheese but make sure information technology'south softed to a spreadable state. The quickest way to do this is by throwing it in a microwave in a bowl. Mix until the mixture is nice and black. 2. Chill this mix in the fridge or the freezer. If planning on working on these in the same day, the freezer works. three. Ball up the mix. This stuff will exist warm so put information technology in the freezer. 4. Coat with chocolate. Don't use almond bark or false, people can tell the deviation. Dark chocolate is rich; milk chocolate will sense of taste like a hot cocoa brawl; white chocolate has a swell contrast. Most people who don't care for white chocolate similar this 1 the best. 5. For dipping chocolate: warm up water to 180 degrees. If yous have an electrical tea kettle information technology works pretty well. I don't have a double boiler and then I find a large pot and fill it with 2" of water. Then, I have a metal mixing basin to put the chocolate in. I don't take out all the balls from the freezer; instead, accept out nearly 20 at a fourth dimension. They'll keep course amend when dipping. I use a teaspoon to toss chocolate on and so identify onto parachment paper.
Fabricated these with white chocolate instead of semi-sweet for dipping. They were delicious - everyone asked for the recipe. This recipe wil exist used ver and over again in my family!
The cookie-cream cheese mixture is yummy but the dipping into chocolate part is difficult. I made a few dipped in chocolate and then the chocolate got also hot and thick and wouldn't melt correctly. The few that I was able to dip were Way too chocolaty I couldnt even gustatory modality the oreos. I decided to roll the rest in powdered carbohydrate and that was so much easier and tasted much better!!!!Too the recipe just made about 28 one inch balls, so yous may want to double it
These are really really yummy!
I thoroughly crushed the package of regular Oreos by placing them in a big ziplock bag and using the heel of my hand. I then hand-stirred the cream cheese and Oreos until evenly mixed. I used a tablespoon to scoop out the globs of Oreo and placed them on a wax paper-covered baking canvass. After placing them in the fridge for thirty min (or freezer for less), I hand rolled them into a prissy circular ball. As well, using a double boiler is fantastic for melting chocolate. I added a small handful of chocolate chips at a time and stirred occasionally until it was all melted over low oestrus. I let the chocolate cool some, and then put a couple of Oreo assurance in at a time and rolled them around in the chocolate bowl with my fingers for even coverage. Chilled them again in fridge for a few hours and they came out perfectly.
Very versatile! Swapped out Nutter Butter cookies for the Oreos, and dipped in melted peanut butter fries. Crushed gingersnaps, mixed with foam cheese, and coated with white chocolate sprinkled with cinnamon
Love this recipe!!! I constitute that placing the assurance in the freezer for about xx minutes makes it much easier to dip this in the chocolate. This was a big hit with my family unit!
I fabricated the cream cheese/cookie assurance and stuck them in the refrigerator overnight on waxed paper. They were hard enough to dunk in the chocolate and came off the waxed paper hands. I so put them back on the waxed paper and dorsum into the fridge. AMAZING!!!
Fantabulous - fabricated dough entirely in food processor. I also used white chocolate to coat, and sprinkled with jimmies and then they were pretty as well. I followed a suggestion to utilize a tooth pick to dip, and had to re-heat chocolate a few seconds half way through so it didn't get too thick. Very easy - And then fudgey and yummy!!
These cookies are really easy to brand and pop. Instead of using semi-sugariness chips, try using Andes mint chocolates. They melt more speedily (and easily) and is SO MUCH easier to work with when dipping, plus it gives a mint taste to the cookies. I also color the white chocolate with nutrient coloring to make different colors.
I consider myself a pretty proficient baker. I rarely have difficulty with a recipe. Merely let me tell yous - these were difficult to make. Definitely tested my patience. I tried what some reviewers had said and froze the dough for a fiddling while before rolling information technology. Fifty-fifty after that the dough was hard to roll out.
It tastes delicious. I modified, by calculation a half a hand total of white sugar and a dash of vanilla into the cream cheese and oreo mixture. So once I rolled the balls, I added toothpicks earlier putting into the freezer to help dip. Thought for Halloween, apply the Halloween Oreos on the base, use white chocolate for dipping and its a ghost! Bon Appétit!
Admittedly fantastic and addictive! Don't make if you lot're looking to watch your figure! To salvage on calories and fat, yous can brand without foam cheese; foam filling from cookie is enough to hold the brawl together. Makes it more cake-similar. Dipping in chocolate is messy. I recommend pocket-sized bowl and small slotted spoon. Curlicue ball in chocolate with tip of spoon, scoop up ball with minor slotted spoon, shimmy dorsum and forth to go extra chocolate off,and ringlet off spoon onto parchment paper. First batch was messy, but second was better in one case I got a rhythm going. Well worth a lilliputian mess....Proficient Luck!
really tastey but the chocolate dipping part is a pain. i just rolled them in powdered sugar
These were the hit of my little 1's tertiary birthday party! *First, since several attendees were gluten-gratis, I made this with Gluten Free sandwich cookies (Kinnikinnick G-Toos chocolate cookies - 2 packages of these equals 36 cookies exactly. I didn't cover with crushed cookie crumbs.). It worked beautifully - no issues. *2d, I followed other reviewers' advice and froze the balls earlier dipping (really, they saturday in the freezer overnight). *Third, after freezing, I inserted lollipop sticks and these fabricated dipping in chocolate a breeze. I did spoon chocolate over the tops and only dipped the bottoms to cover the entire cookie ball. This also fabricated eating a picayune easier for fiddling ones - less chocolate mess on the hands. :-) (Nosotros're in the centre of a typical, brutal Texas summer. These cook fast, so I served them straight from the 'fridge and the lolly sticks kept some of the mess in bank check.) I can't wait to make these again...and try different variations. :-)
i made this recipe with my friend to race money for the American Cancer Social club. Everybody loved them and the fundraiser was a huge success, with over 100 orders. I will say that the dipping took a while when you have to make 200 plus cookie assurance, but otherwise this was a great recipe.
I followed this recipe exactly as given. Making the oreo/cream mixture is piece of cake enough, but dipping in the chocolate is not easy chore - Messy. Although they practise look pretty when done - I used white chocolate and sprinkled with oreo crumbs. For me the cost of foam cheese and oreos, and mess is not worth what it produced.
Made these with my grandchildren and had a lots of fun...and lots of mess, but was sooo tasty we didn't intendance nigh the clean-up. Of course, most of the cookie balls didn't brand it to the dip in chocolate stage as we had fun eating them every bit nosotros went along. Ameliorate have lots of ice cold milk on hand.
This is and so easy,my daughter 15,makes them! The dipping can exist tough. I similar the candy melts from walmart for 'making candy' They can be microwaved over and over, and information technology gives the cookies a trounce. I likewise utilise the food processor for the mixing, makes this recipe a snap! P. Southward. They are suppose to exist sweet, lol! You lot are rolling Oreos in Chocolate! :) And then fill a glass of common cold milk and yum!
I honey this recipe! i made mine into little Christmas puddings by using green and reddish icing, anybody loved them !
Love. Especially since this recipe doesn't involve anything that I wouldn't ordinarily accept. Just a alert. Using the Oreos with ruby frosting will stain your hands.
we make these every yr at christmas time. you could also dip them in white chocolate too
Have been making these for years and e'er a hitting!!! I usually dip in white chocolate with a milk chocolate drizzle. Sometimes use peanut butter Oreos dipped in milk chocolate with a peanut drizzle. Place them in mini cupcake papers for a dainty presentation...like shooting fish in a barrel & delicious!!!
Made these for a conjugal shower and they were a huge hitting! I am surprised at how many reviewers are maxim these are difficult to make. I idea they were 1 of the easiest desserts I have ever fabricated in my life. As well, one of the tastiest. To brand the procedure easier, I do concord with the proffer to apply a food processor to crush the Oreos and mix them with the cream cheese. I used molar picks to dip them in the chocolate. Once the chocolate started to run low I just plopped the balls in the bowl and then spooned the chocolate over the elevation to coat the unabridged ball. I agree that they are very rich, simply I don't consider that to be a negative thing.
My kids love these, even now that they're adults! The advice I've read in reviews has been very helpful. I don't take a nutrient processor or double boiler, but I fabricated do. Definitely soften the foam cheese well. Beat the cookies well. I started crushing past paw in a Ziploc bag, then put them and the cream cheese in a large bowl and mixed with a manus mixer. Only slightly messy. Form into minor balls, insert a toothpick in each, and freeze for an hour. I put a metal basin over some very hot water on the stove to melt the chocolate, and this kept the chocolate very workable for dipping the balls to glaze. cool on parchment or waxed paper, remove the toothpicks and you are good to go!
Taste was corking...they were a big hitting only coating them in the melted chocolate was near impossible!! It was an extremely messy process...I tried spoons, toothpicks...naught worked! Don't know if I will attempt this once again.
very easy to make and a hit with everyone!
I fabricated these cookie balls yesterday for a fourth of July party and they were delicious. I used the semi-sweet chocolate, not white chocolate, and sprinkled a few red, white, and blue sprinkles on each. I left my balls in the freezer for at least an hr so they were good and hard and could exist easily dipped in the melted chocolate. The recipe as information technology is does not make anywhere near 48 balls though. I was lucky I got thirty pocket-size assurance out of my batch. Just a few comments most the negative reviews: yes its a piffling messy covering the balls in chocolate and mine did not come out looking like smooth little candy balls, just the party I was going to wasn't fancy and no 1 cared what they looked similar; you have to work fast with the melted chocolate considering it does tend to thicken up apace; I do agree with some of the reviews that they are a little expensive to brand merely man are they yummy.
Beloved these! Three simple ingredients and uncomplicated to make. Plus I beat out the Oreos in my food processor which is ever fun. They are super delicious, my married man tin can't get plenty of them. In fact considering of him I have to make my 3rd batch of these.
Messy to make, just worth it. Very rich, so exist careful non to brand the balls besides big.
I've made these twice, the first just with the cookie mixture and dipped in chocolate, they turned out neat. Merely made them this afternoon this time wrapped the cookie mixture around maraschino cherries and dipped they turned out wonderful. reminded us of black forest block.
Endeavour dipping them in Andes mint fries for a variation!
I tried them, like this, dipped in the semi-sweetness chocolate. I prefer them made with white chocolate.
Love these!
I beloved sweet things but this is Way to sweet to consume. I made the balls and froze them for 20 minutes. Then took a little white chocolate and dipped a cake pop stick. Put the stick in the brawl so into the chocolate. Sounds easy...no. The GRE was easier than this recipe. A pain and quite an expensive recipe for the results. A lot of oddly shaped, way also sweet cookies is what I ended upwards with. I'chiliad glad I did a trial run today. They wont be making it to the Christmas dinner table.
These Oreo assurance are a delicious and addictive care for. I love this recipe so much! One alter I made was that I put the Oreo cookies through a food processor rather than just breaking them up of crushing them with something. Also, after I rolled the assurance and placed them in the freezer, I left them in for 20 minutes rather than ten. I also used white chocolate instead of semi-sweet and it was amazing!
Try using cooking wax. Boil water and accept another pot on top with the wax and chocolate. And then dip. It works so much better. Some other good ball is Reese Balls with powered sugar, peanut butter, sugar and butter. And so adept!
Then like shooting fish in a barrel to brand. A piddling sweet for me only always a hit at the parties!
These got mixed reviews but I personally liked them. I had never melted blistering chocolate prior to this recipe and I frustrated myself during the offset failed (slightly embarrassing) effort. I used the water bath technique the second time around. It worked wonderfully. I used toothpicks for dipping which too made things easier. I'd recommend this recipe.
I have made these for Christmas dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with red and green saccharide. I also brand them into football shaped and dipped in milk chocolate for Super Bowl. Piped white chocolate or royal icing for the laces.
I honey this recipe, and information technology works for my family. Only instead of chocolate chips, I highly recommend almond bawl of whatsoever brand information technology makes it moe near the oreo even with that little bit of chocolatey taste.
Ok, so these taste amazing - what'due south there not to like, right? Nevertheless, unless you are a bakery extraordinaire you lot may discover yourself thinking somewhere along the way (as I did)...."how on earth tin a recipe with but three ingredients be this much trouble??!!" Seriously. And the time estimate of 1.75 hours is a joke. Information technology took twice that easily but really longer considering the time needed to chill. And they looked rather unsightly. Fortunately, just about any dessert tastes corking regardless of appearance simply was hoping to present something pleasing to the center since I was whipping them upward for a cookie swap. Um, not exactly - they were funny niggling misshapen globs with clumps of white chocolate and holes and oh my. Non pretty. And then yes, they are wonderful and I can run into the potential but don't think you are embarking upon a simple blistering venture!! Good luck!
Try this! use Strawberry Oreos. Dip them in white chocolate, or red melt-aways. Earlier chocolate sets, sprinkle popular rocks on elevation! YUM!
Quick and easy! Super yummy!
I've made these several times before with just Oreo cookies. I'k supporting our local Girl Scouts and bought Thin Mints this time. Yuuuumo!!! Endeavor it!
So delicious! I fabricated them for a work potluck and am still getting compliments a week later! Volition definitely make once again!
My sister-in-police fabricated these I did not, but they were peachy, We thought how easy they were and sooo good.
They were delicious! Defiantly going to make these again!
This recipe is sooo yummy! To crush my Oreo'south, I used my blender and then mixed the fine cookie crumbs with the cream cheese using a hand mixer. The 2nd time I made these I used the Berry Burst Ice Cream Oreo's and covered them in vanilla almond bawl. These tasted just like chocolate raspberry truffles! My family can't go enough of these!
An easy, unbelievably succulent "cookie". A family Christmas favorite.
These are and so yummy! I used vanilla flavored almond bark instead of chocolate. I call back the vanilla brought out the Oreo filling taste more.
These are sooooooo good!!!! For my Christmas cookie political party, I added crushed candy canes inside, as well equally sprinkling a few on elevation. I used a double broiler for the chocolate, used two forks for dipping, and put them on waxed newspaper when done. You accept to freeze the mix for a expert xv minutes to brand them like shooting fish in a barrel to roll in your hands; only putting them in the refrigerator even for a half hour, doesn't cut it. I too added but a tad extra cream cheese for extra creaminess inside my cookie. They were a hit!
Giving this a iv out of five considering while they are super delicious & fun to make, the procedure of dipping them in the melted chocolate was difficult. I would advise if y'all're a novice like me to purchase those Bakery's dipping chocolate cups instead. They're petty microwaveable bowls of chocolate wafers & they are and so much harder to spiral upwardly than melting chips on the stove!! Delicious recipe, only actually disappointingly challenging to pull off without them looking a mess. Guess this is a recipe that takes practise to primary.
Very like shooting fish in a barrel to make, and very delicious!
Small tip: add virtually a tablespoon of shortening to the melting chocolate. It makes it more liquidy and much easier to coat the assurance in. Besides, brand sure you lot freeze the balls hard before coating them!
I used my food processor which fabricated it really easy! I too used the smallest cookie scoop I could notice which kept my hands clean and kept the size small enough to pop them in your oral fissure without getting overwhelmed by the richness. I put them in the fridge for 30 mins while I heated my chocolate blanket (annotation the chocolate coating not chocolate chips) in my candy melts pot that keeps it at a proficient temp. Before dipping a rolled them in my easily to give a better shape. After dipping I used festive sprinkles! I tried different combinations too and loved them all. Mint oreos with dark coating, regular with white, mint with white... you name information technology! All in all they were a hit with family and friends, just I made sure I kept them pocket-sized!
With white chocolate it's superb. Don't make the chocolate coating too thick because then it overpowers the Oreo itself. My all time favorite dessert
These were so easy and astonishing! The only thing I changed was I used white chocolate instead..Too afterwards dipping them in the chocolate I sprinkled cherry and green sprinkles on acme for a 'holiday dessert'! very yummy
I expected so much more. The chocolate was as well thick and I burned information technology because I was trying to get information technology sparse enough and so the cookie balls wouldn't crumble apart. I was kind of disappointed afterwards all the piece of work I went through. I felt like in that location should of been more than of a kick.
Made with altogether cake Oreos and white chocolate, topped with rainbow sprinkles!
Easy! Quick! nom nom nom! tried using the white oreos and white chocolate but information technology doesnt work as well as the original cookies and milk chocolate. Still taste groovy!
I used white Oreos ,pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon and dipped in white chocolate delicious
Succulent! We made information technology for a party we went to and all people did was eat them and talk about how wonderful they were!??????
Very tasty, Made these with greenish sprinkles just for looks. Btw y'all can also utilize semi sweet chocolate chips for dipping instead of semi sweet bakers chocolate and it tastes only fine.
My xiv yr old daughter fabricated these for a Christmas party dessert and they were a striking! She followed the recipe as is and we wouldn't change a thing. She used Ghirardelli white chocolate baking fries as the blanket and they were AWESOME! We will definitely be making these again!!
This was a great recipe. The insdie was Like cake! I mad them on Easter, and they were all gone in one twenty-four hour period!!!!! Amazing!
I made these for a Christmas cookie exchange party and they were a huge striking. Ever since and so my family refuses to let a Christmas go past without me making them. They are extremely time consuming and messy, simply are just divine. I use the Baker's chocolate in the microwavable tub. Information technology melts very easily and can exist microwaved once more when it starts to thicken up. Plus, the tub is the perfect size for dipping. I use two spoons and just transfer the balls from 1 to the other to let the excess chocolate drain dorsum into the container. My oral fissure is watering but thinking about them:)))
It was very practiced, really rich. All the other reviews are correct, dipping in the chocolate was not very easy. Nosotros finally used a small-scale fork and let the chocolate drip thru the tines and that seemed to work the all-time. I would definitely make it again.
Ridiculously easy and a huge crowd pleaser
I brand these for work and they vanish nearly instantly with rave reviews from anybody. They're super easy to brand and one time you get your rhythm down they're fairly quick to make equally well. Instead of a toothpick I just toss a ball into the chocolate and and so use a fork to curlicue the ball around until it's covered. This works especially well one time you outset running low on melted chocolate.
These are amazingly good. I make with white chocolate instead of semi-sweet.
I got this recipe from my cousin last Ten-mas. I loved them & couldn't expect to try making them myself. I was able to make my filling into perfect balls using a tbsp & tsp. This recipe is elementary, fun, & delicious!
Six stars. I will brand this every Christmas from now on!
I loved this information technology was supper tasty & easy to.
These are delicious and so easy to make! They too don't take upwardly any infinite in your oven or microwave when cooking multiple dishes. I have also made them using the Mint Oreo cookies for a mint chocolate variety.
These treats will make everybody happily smile. People beg me to bring the oreo balls with me when I visit them. Makes a wonderful gift also.
Very good, but I have chocolate all over me. Yummy!
This is a simple recipe I made with my boyfriend, and we both loved it! Since we don't have a nutrient processor we merely put the Oreos in a large plastic ziplock bag and crushed them with a rolling pivot. We added i teaspoon of chocolate sundae sauce to the cream cheese and oreo crumbs mixer to actually go that chocolate taste all the way through, highly recommend doing that, otherwise, information technology simply tastes like cream cheese! But overall great recipe, brought it to a family unit assemble and was a huge hit with everyone! Would totally make once again!
I tried this with Golden Oreos and information technology turned out great!! This recipe works for all sorts of holidays. I made it for Christmastime and used carmine and greenish sprinkles, dipped in white almond bark and used blueish and red sprinkles for fourth of July, making some now just for the fun of it!
I made more of a ganache with semi-sweet baking chocolate, heavy cream and butter, which I think it easier to utilise to coat things.
Oreo balls are and then good- there is absolutely no style to mess them upward. This is a scrumptious recipe! ;)
Definitely delicious for desserts and parties! Great holiday dish to bring!
Love these! After trying these incredibly delicious Oreo creations at a cookie substitution, I but had to try them myself. When I institute that the recipe had come from Allrecipes.com- I was ecstatic! Eating these cookie balls, you would retrieve to make these yous would demand to be a cookie-making pro. The cookie and cream cheese combination is genius. This is definitely a recipe I recommend.
An piece of cake recipe and the family loved them!
Tasted expert but was WAY too much work in my opinion
Easy, quick, delicious! What more can yous ask for? These are my go to for any type of event. They're always a hit. I've been experimenting with all of the other Oreo flavors since I discovered this recipe. Endeavor the mint Oreos dipped in chocolate, yum!
too much mess for a less than spectacular pay off. 2 of 4 kids liked the white chocolate dipped ones all right, the ones i dipped in chocolate chocolate were just too much, no one liked those. will not make once more.
Made with Carmine Velvet Oreos for Valentine'south Day with White and Chocolate candy melts with pinkish and scarlet sprinkles...Beautiful and Succulent !!
These are a not bad, chocolate-rich treat. I highly recommend making these and so hoarding them all for yourself.
Yes they were succulent only how practise you proceed from having one apartment side to the balls after coating and putting in frig?
According to my son these are winners and they are so pretty. Now if I tin merely keep him away from them long enough to have some left for company, I'll exist good.
Its very fun to make i luved it!!!!!!!!:)
